The NIBCO B105400 is a cast copper pressure tee fitting used to create a branch connection in copper piping systems. It accepts solder-cup (sweat) connections on all three ends, following a C x C x C configuration, and is rated for pressure service in potable water, hydronic heating, and plumbing distribution lines. The run measures 2-1/2 inches with two branch outlets each at 1-1/2 inches, making this a reducing tee suited for main-line distribution with a smaller branch takeoff. Installation is performed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters working to IPC or local plumbing code requirements.
This fitting is commonly installed in residential and light commercial plumbing and hydronic systems where a 2-1/2-inch copper main must feed a 1-1/2-inch branch line. Typical applications include domestic water distribution headers, hot and chilled water piping in hydronic systems, and recirculation loops. The cast copper construction provides consistent wall thickness and reliable joint integrity when properly soldered with the appropriate flux and filler material.
Designed as an OEM-style pressure fitting for use with standard 2-1/2-inch and 1-1/2-inch copper tube in solder-joint piping systems per ASTM and applicable plumbing code standards.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off and depressurize the system and ensure all piping is completely dry before soldering, as moisture in the line will prevent proper joint formation. Clean all tube ends and fitting sockets with emery cloth and apply appropriate flux before assembling and soldering. Do not pressure-test the system until all joints have cooled fully.
