The NIBCO B102450 is a cast copper pressure tee fitting designed for sweat-joint copper piping systems. It provides a three-way branch connection with a 1-1/2 inch run, a 1/2 inch branch outlet, and a 1-1/4 inch opposing run end, all using copper-to-copper (C x C x C) solder connections. Cast copper construction delivers consistent wall thickness and reliable joint integrity under rated working pressures. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in hydronic heating, domestic water distribution, and other pressurized copper piping applications where a reducing branch connection is required.
This tee is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing and hydronic systems where flow must be split or diverted from a main copper line. The reducing configuration allows a technician to branch a smaller 1/2 inch line from a 1-1/4 inch to 1-1/2 inch main without additional reducers, keeping the assembly compact and minimizing potential leak points. It is appropriate for above-grade and in-wall installations in accordance with applicable plumbing codes.
Designed as an OEM-style pressure fitting for use with standard copper tubing in residential and light commercial plumbing and hydronic piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in compliance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off and depressurize the supply line and allow all piping to cool completely before cutting or fitting. Clean and flux all mating tube ends and fitting sockets thoroughly before applying heat; do not overheat cast copper fittings, as excessive heat can damage the fitting or cause incomplete solder flow. Inspect the finished joint for full solder fill around the entire socket perimeter before returning the system to service.
