The NIBCO B073600 is a cast copper 90-degree drop ear elbow designed for sweat-connect copper piping systems. The drop ear configuration includes a mounting flange with a threaded hole, allowing the fitting to be secured directly to a wall or structural member before the supply line is connected. This is a pressure-rated fitting suitable for potable water, hydronic heating, and general plumbing supply lines. The C x C end connections accept 3/4-inch copper tube on both ends via soldered joints. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers. The fitting meets ASTM B584 and ISO standards for cast copper alloy fittings used in pressure applications.
This fitting sees common use in residential and light commercial plumbing rough-ins where a supply line must be anchored at a wall penetration or blocking point. Typical applications include tub and shower supply stubs, washing machine outlets, and any location where a 90-degree turn is needed simultaneously with a secure wall anchor point. Both copper sweat ends allow standard torch-and-solder installation compatible with Type L and Type M copper tube at 3/4-inch nominal size.
Designed as an OEM-style pressure fitting replacement or new-installation component for 3/4-inch nominal copper tube systems using sweat (solder) connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber following local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and fully depressurize and drain the line before cutting into existing piping. Clean and flux all mating surfaces before soldering; use lead-free solder where required by code for potable water systems. Secure the drop ear flange to solid blocking or framing before making final solder connections to prevent stress on the joint.
