The NIBCO 900605rpc is a copper ACR press-by-flare adapter designed for joining refrigeration and air conditioning copper tubing without flame, solder, or flux. One end accepts a standard SAE flare connection; the other end uses NIBCO PressACR technology with an inboard bead and a gray HNBR O-ring. A pressing tool compresses the fitting onto the tube, creating a secure, leak-resistant seal in seconds. The result is a clean mechanical joint suited for refrigerant lines in both new construction and retrofit applications. Licensed HVAC technicians and refrigeration mechanics are the primary installers of this fitting.
This adapter is used in ACR copper tubing systems where a flare-terminated line must transition to a press-style connection. Typical applications include residential and light commercial HVAC refrigerant piping, split-system installations, and service situations where open-flame work is restricted or undesirable. Both connection sizes are 1/2 inch OD, making this a straight adapter between connection types rather than a size reducer.
Designed as an OEM-style ACR press fitting for use with 1/2 inch OD copper refrigeration tubing in systems requiring a transition from a press connection to an SAE flare connection.
Installation must be performed by a qualified HVAC or refrigeration technician using an approved pressing tool compatible with NIBCO PressACR fittings. Recover and isolate refrigerant from the system before cutting or modifying any refrigerant line, in compliance with EPA Section 608 regulations. Ensure the copper tube end is clean, round, and free of burrs before insertion into the press end. Do not attempt to solder or braze the press end of this fitting.
