The NIBCO 9000300 is a wrot copper reducing coupling designed to connect a larger-diameter tube to a smaller-diameter tube using solder cup (C x C) ends. At 5/16 inch by 1/8 inch nominal size, this fitting is suited for tight-clearance refrigeration and air conditioning line sets where precise tube transitions are required. The wrot copper construction offers consistent wall thickness and reliable joint integrity when sweated with standard soft or hard solder. Manufactured in an ISO 9001 certified facility, the fitting meets lead-free and NSF/ANSI 372 potable water compliance requirements. Licensed HVAC technicians and plumbers install this fitting where copper tube size changes are needed in low-pressure refrigerant or water lines.
This coupling is rated for ACR (air conditioning and refrigeration) applications as well as potable water systems where lead-free fittings are required. The small nominal size makes it appropriate for residential and light commercial refrigerant line work, as well as domestic water supply branches. Its compact profile fits into confined spaces typical of equipment cabinets and wall chases. The solder cup design is compatible with standard capillary-joint soldering technique used throughout the copper tube trade.

Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician familiar with copper sweat-soldering procedures. Shut off and depressurize the system and drain all fluid from the line before cutting and fitting. Clean tube ends and cup interiors with emery cloth and apply flux before heating; follow applicable IPC and IFGC guidelines for joint preparation and solder selection. Do not apply flame directly to the fitting body for extended periods, as overheating can damage the capillary gap and weaken the joint.
