The NIBCO 39923676764 is a 2-piece bronze ball valve in the S-580-70-66 series, designed for reliable shut-off service in commercial and light industrial piping systems. The body is bronze with a 316 stainless steel ball and trim, paired with RTFE seats for chemical compatibility and long service life. The valve connects via solder end in a 2-inch nominal size, carries a 600 psi pressure rating, and is rated to 400 degrees F. A standard locking lever handle provides quick quarter-turn actuation. The 1-1/2-inch orifice standard port is sized for flow balance across a range of fluid service applications. This valve is manufactured domestically and carries a 5-year limited warranty.
This valve is suited for commercial and light industrial process applications including HVAC systems, hot and cold domestic water distribution, low-pressure steam service, and hot water heating systems. The solder-end connection makes it compatible with copper tube installations common in plumbing and hydronic heating work. Note: per CA Section 116875, this valve is not approved for use in potable drinking water service. Installation should reflect the applicable media and pressure class for the system.
Designed for commercial and light industrial piping applications including HVAC, hot and cold domestic water, low-pressure steam, and hot water heating service. Not for use in potable drinking water service per CA Section 116875. Compatible with copper tube solder-end installations in 2-inch nominal pipe size.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter. Isolate and depressurize the system and allow all fluid and steam to dissipate before cutting into the line. Use proper solder flux and lead-free solder appropriate for the media and local code requirements, referencing IPC or applicable mechanical codes. Confirm valve orientation relative to flow direction and verify the handle locks securely in both open and closed positions before returning the system to service.
