The NIBCO 39923638748 is a T-480-Y series ring check in-line lift check valve designed to allow one-directional flow and prevent backflow in pressurized piping systems. Built with a bronze body and stainless steel and PTFE trim, this valve is rated for 250 psi working pressure, a 125 lb pressure class, and temperatures up to 353 degrees F. A spring actuator ensures positive closure without relying on gravity or fluid velocity alone, making it suitable for horizontal or vertical installations. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this valve as part of mechanical piping assemblies in commercial and industrial applications.
This valve is used in in-line piping configurations where backflow prevention is required without a full-sized backflow preventer assembly. The 1-1/4 in nominal size and female NPT end connections make it compatible with standard threaded pipe runs. It is commonly installed in hydronic heating systems, industrial fluid handling lines, and general plumbing piping where elevated temperature and pressure ratings are required. Note: per manufacturer data, this valve is not for use in potable drinking water service.
Designed as an OEM-style in-line lift check valve for threaded piping systems requiring backflow prevention at 1-1/4 in nominal pipe size. Not for use in potable drinking water service per manufacturer specification.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing codes, including IPC and local authority requirements. Shut off system pressure and drain the line before removing or installing any valve. Apply appropriate thread sealant to NPT connections and tighten to the fitting manufacturer's recommended procedure — do not over-tighten bronze-body fittings. Verify flow direction arrow on the valve body before final installation.
