The NIBCO 39923423917 is a 1-inch full port bronze ball valve designed for demanding plumbing and mechanical systems. It carries a non-shock cold working pressure rating of 1,000 psi and a steam working pressure rating of 150 psi, with a maximum temperature rating of 300 degrees F and a minimum temperature rating of 20 degrees F. The valve body is silicon performance bronze, the ball and stem are stainless steel, and the seat is RPTFE for reliable sealing across the pressure and temperature range. A blowout-proof stem design and triple-sealed stem construction add a measurable layer of safety for high-pressure installations. The lever handle is carbon steel, reversible, and features an easily adjustable packing nut. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this valve.
The 39923423917 is recommended for potable water service and is Lead Law compliant and certified, making it appropriate for use in residential and commercial domestic water systems. The threaded end connections on both sides suit standard pipe installation in supply lines, branch piping, and equipment isolation applications. Full port construction minimizes flow restriction, which matters in systems where pressure drop must be controlled. NSF 61, NSF 372, and CSA B125.14 certifications support use in potable water service across jurisdictions that require those listings. IAPMO and cUPC listings further broaden acceptance by local inspectors and AHJs.
Part of the NIBCO 585HP collection. Designed for potable water service with threaded end connections on both ends, suitable for 1-inch threaded pipe systems meeting the pressure and temperature ratings specified above.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local codes and the International Plumbing Code. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before removing or installing the valve. Use thread sealant or PTFE tape on all threaded connections and avoid over-tightening, which can damage the valve body. If installed in a steam application, verify that system operating pressure does not exceed the 150 psi steam working pressure rating.
