The NEW YORKER BOILER cl4-168-wet-tl is a cast iron, oil-fired hot water boiler designed for residential heating applications. It delivers a DOE heating capacity of 179 MBH with an AFUE rating of 84 percent, making it a solid-performing unit for forced hot water systems. The boiler ships less burner but includes a tankless coil for domestic hot water production and a Hydrolevel hydrostat control. The cast iron wet base heat exchanger surrounds the flame with water-backed surfaces, increasing heat transfer efficiency. An integrated boiler control with thermal purge and combination high-limit circulator relay are also included. Licensed oil heat technicians and HVAC contractors are the typical installing trades.
This boiler is intended for residential oil-fired hot water heating systems requiring a floor-mounted, chimney-vented unit. It is rated at a net IBR of 156 MBH and fires at 1.5 GPH. The inclusion of a tankless coil rated at 4 GPM makes this unit suitable for applications combining space heating with domestic hot water production. The unit accepts a Beckett AFG oil burner and Beckett GeniSYS primary control as optional additions, allowing the installer to match the burner package to the specific job requirements.
Designed for use with a Beckett AFG oil burner and Beckett GeniSYS primary control (sold separately). Compatible with chimney venting systems using an 8-inch by 8-inch rectangular flue with a minimum 15-foot height. Supply and return connections are 1-1/2-inch threaded.
Installation must be performed by a licensed oil heat technician or qualified HVAC contractor in accordance with NFPA 31 and local mechanical codes. Shut off all electrical power and fuel supply before connecting or servicing any components. The unit requires a floor-mount installation with proper chimney venting; do not connect to plastic or unlined masonry flues without verifying local code compliance. Verify relief valve discharge piping is routed to an appropriate drain before placing the boiler in service.
