The NEUCO 780-002 is a lockout-style universal ignition control designed for gas-fired heating systems. It manages the spark ignition sequence, monitors pilot flame status, and controls both pilot and main gas valves during startup and operation. Operating on 24 VAC at 50/60 Hz, the control delivers 3 to 4 sparks per second during the ignition trial. If flame is not established, the control disables main gas and restarts the spark sequence automatically. Only after successful pilot ignition is re-established can main gas flow return to the burner. Licensed HVAC technicians and gas appliance service pros install this control as part of standing-pilot or intermittent-pilot furnace systems.
The 780-002 is suited for residential and light commercial gas-fired heating equipment that uses a 24 VAC control circuit. It fits applications where a lockout or automatic-recycle ignition control is required to manage pilot and main valve sequencing. The automatic recycle logic ensures that in the event of flame failure, the system attempts re-ignition before allowing main gas to energize. This design is appropriate for systems requiring a thermostat anticipator setting of 0.7 amp.
Designed as an OEM-style universal replacement ignition control for gas-fired heating appliances using a 24 VAC low-voltage control circuit with standing-pilot or automatic-recycle ignition systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or qualified gas appliance service professional in accordance with applicable local codes and IFGC requirements. Shut off gas supply and disconnect power to the unit before removing the existing control. Verify all valve and thermostat wiring connections are secure and correct before restoring power. Do not energize the control without confirming the gas valve ratings are within the specified load limits of the replacement control.
