The NDS 422 is a 4-inch pop-up drainage emitter designed to terminate underground drainage runs at grade level. Built from polyolefin with a UV inhibitor, it resists sun degradation in exposed outdoor installations. When stormwater or irrigation runoff reaches the emitter under pressure, the center-drive cap opens and releases flow away from the structure. When dry, the cap stays closed, blocking debris, insects, and rodents from entering the pipe. Plumbers, irrigation contractors, and landscape drainage installers use this emitter as the final discharge point on residential and light commercial drainage systems.
The 422 fits 3-inch and 4-inch hub sewer and drain fittings, making it compatible with standard Schedule 40 and SDR-35 drain pipe systems commonly used in yard drainage and downspout discharge applications. The low-profile cap design sits close to grade and does not rise high enough to interfere with lawn mowers during operation. The emitter blends into surrounding turf and landscape once installed, reducing visual impact in finished yard areas. It is sold in a package quantity of 20 units, suited for contractors running multiple drainage runs on a single job.
Fits 3-inch and 4-inch hub sewer and drain fittings as stated by the manufacturer. Designed as an OEM-style termination fitting for residential and light commercial underground drainage systems using standard hub-style pipe connections.
Installation is typically performed by plumbers, irrigation contractors, or drainage specialists working under applicable local plumbing and stormwater codes. Power down any associated pump systems before making connections. Set the emitter at or slightly above final grade to allow proper cap travel and prevent backfill from restricting the pop-up mechanism. Do not cement the emitter in a position that prevents the cap from opening freely.
