The NDL INDUSTRIES W1359 is a copper reducing bushing designed to connect two different pipe sizes within a copper plumbing or HVAC refrigerant system. It transitions from a 2.125-inch fitting (FTG) end to a 1.375-inch cup (C) end, allowing a larger pipe to feed into a smaller one without the need for additional adapters. This type of fitting is a standard component in residential and light commercial installations where pipe size reductions occur at branch lines, manifolds, or equipment connections. It is installed by licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians during new construction, retrofit, and repair work.
This reducing bushing is suited for copper tubing systems where a direct in-line size reduction is required. The FTG x C configuration means the male fitting end slides into a standard copper fitting socket, while the cup end receives the smaller copper pipe for soldering. This makes it a compact, single-piece solution for size transitions in potable water, hydronic, and refrigerant piping systems. It is sold in a box quantity of 15, making it practical for contractors stocking common reducing sizes for recurring field use.
Designed as an OEM-style sweat fitting for use with standard copper pipe and fittings in residential and commercial plumbing or HVAC piping systems requiring a 2.125-inch to 1.375-inch in-line reduction.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician using standard copper soldering tools including a torch, flux, and lead-free solder in accordance with applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC or UPC. Shut off and depressurize the water or refrigerant system and allow all pipes to cool completely before cutting or fitting. Clean all mating surfaces with emery cloth and apply flux before sweating the joint. Do not apply excessive heat to the fitting, as overheating can compromise the integrity of the copper.
