The NDL INDUSTRIES W1355 is a copper reducing bushing designed to connect two pipes of different diameters within a copper plumbing system. With a fitting connection type of FTG x C (fitting-to-copper solder cup), this bushing accepts a 1-5/8 inch fitting on the male end and a 5/8 inch solder cup on the female end. It provides a clean, permanent transition between mismatched pipe sizes without the need for additional adapters. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting using standard soldering techniques in residential and commercial copper supply and drain systems.
This reducing bushing is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where a pipe reduction is needed inline. It is commonly used in water supply lines and other copper piping assemblies where two different nominal pipe sizes must be joined. The FTG x C connection style allows the bushing to nest directly inside a fitting socket, enabling compact transitions within tight spaces. Box quantity is 10 units, making it practical for contractors stocking for multiple jobs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use fitting for copper plumbing systems requiring an inline reduction from 1-5/8 inches to 5/8 inches with a FTG x C connection style.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off and depressurize the water supply line before beginning work. Clean and flux both mating surfaces before soldering, and allow joints to cool fully before restoring pressure. Do not use in systems where temperatures or pressures exceed the rated limits of standard copper solder fittings per local code requirements.
