The NDL INDUSTRIES W1340 is a copper reducing bushing designed to connect two different pipe sizes within a sweat-fit copper piping system. The male fitting (FTG) end measures 1-1/8 inches and the female cup (C) end measures 1/2 inch, allowing a larger-diameter line to transition down to a smaller run. Plumbers and HVAC technicians install this fitting during new construction and retrofit work where copper pipe size reductions are required in domestic water, hydronic, or refrigerant piping systems. The all-copper construction ensures compatibility with standard soldering and brazing methods.
This reducing bushing is suited for residential and light commercial applications where a pipe reduction is needed inline without adding a separate coupling or adapter. It is commonly used in domestic hot and cold water supply lines, hydronic heating loops, and similar copper piping systems. The FTG x C configuration allows the bushing to insert directly into a standard copper cup fitting on one end while accepting a copper pipe on the FTG end, keeping the assembly compact. Sold in box quantities of 25, making it practical for contractors stocking job-site supplies.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use fitting for copper sweat piping systems requiring a 1-1/8 inch to 1/2 inch inline reduction with FTG x C connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician following applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply or system pressure and allow all lines to depressurize before cutting into existing piping. Clean and flux all mating surfaces thoroughly before applying heat to ensure a proper solder joint. Avoid overheating the fitting, as excessive heat can compromise joint integrity.
