The NDL INDUSTRIES W1339 is a copper reducing bushing designed to transition between two different tube sizes in a sweat-soldered copper piping system. It accepts a 1-1/8 inch fitting end (FTG) on one side and a 5/8 inch cup end (C) on the other, allowing a technician to step down pipe diameter within a single fitting. This bushing is standard in HVAC refrigerant line sets, plumbing supply lines, and hydronic systems where diameter reductions are required at branch points or equipment connections. Licensed HVAC technicians and plumbers are the primary installers.
This reducing bushing is suited for residential and light commercial applications where copper sweat fittings are the specified connection method. The FTG x C configuration means the male fitting end inserts directly into a standard cup-end fitting or valve on one side, while the cup end receives a 5/8 inch tube on the other. It is sold in box quantities of 25, making it practical for contractors stocking commonly used transition sizes.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-install fitting for copper sweat piping systems requiring a 1-1/8 inch FTG to 5/8 inch C reducing connection.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or HVAC technicians using standard sweat-soldering tools and lead-free solder per applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC or IFGC. Shut off and depressurize the system and ensure all lines are dry before cutting and fitting. Clean and flux all joint surfaces thoroughly before applying heat. Follow local code requirements for solder alloy selection, particularly in potable water applications.
