The NDL INDUSTRIES W1312 is a copper reducing bushing designed to transition between two different pipe sizes within a copper plumbing system. It connects a 1/2-inch fitting end (FTG) to a 3/8-inch cup end (C), allowing a technician to step down pipe diameter at a junction without additional adapters. This bushing is a standard sweat-type fitting, intended for use with a torch and solder. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting in residential and light commercial water distribution systems where pipe sizing changes are required at fixtures, valves, or branch connections.
This reducing bushing is suited for potable water supply lines, hydronic distribution piping, and similar copper tubing applications where a diameter reduction from 1/2 inch to 3/8 inch is needed. It is commonly found at fixture supply connections, shutoff valve installations, and branch-line reductions. The FTG x C configuration means the bushing slides into a fitting hub on one end and receives tubing on the other, making it compatible with standard sweat assembly practice. Sold in a box quantity of 50, making it a practical stocking item for service vehicles and shop inventory.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-stock copper reducing bushing for use in residential and light commercial copper plumbing systems requiring a 1/2-inch FTG to 3/8-inch C transition.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber following applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before beginning any sweat soldering work. Clean both mating surfaces with emery cloth and apply flux before heating; use lead-free solder for potable water applications as required by code. Avoid overheating the fitting, which can burn off flux and result in a failed joint.
