The NDL INDUSTRIES W1247 is a copper female adapter designed to transition from a 7/8-inch copper sweat (C) connection to a 1/2-inch female pipe thread (FPT). This fitting provides a reliable mechanical joint between smooth copper tubing and threaded pipe or fittings in potable water, HVAC, and general plumbing systems. The C x FPT configuration allows a plumber or pipefitter to solder the copper end directly onto tubing while threading a male-threaded component into the female port. It is a standard, workhorse fitting used in both new construction and retrofit plumbing work.
This adapter is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where copper tubing must connect to a threaded valve, fixture, or pipe assembly. The 7/8-inch sweat end accommodates standard 7/8-inch OD copper tubing, while the 1/2-inch FPT port accepts any standard 1/2-inch NPT male-threaded fitting. Typical installation scenarios include water supply lines, HVAC refrigerant or hydronic piping transition points, and fixture rough-in connections.
Designed as an OEM-style copper sweat adapter for use with standard 7/8-inch OD copper tubing and 1/2-inch NPT male-threaded fittings in residential and commercial plumbing and HVAC piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and fully depressurize and drain the line before soldering. Clean and flux the copper tubing end before making the sweat joint, and apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male-threaded component before threading into the FPT port. Do not overheat the fitting body during soldering, as excessive heat can damage nearby components or degrade the threaded port.
