The NDL INDUSTRIES W1179 is a copper male adapter fitting designed to transition between a copper sweat connection and a male pipe thread (MPT) connection. The fitting accepts a 1-5/8 inch copper tube on the sweat (C) end and steps down to a 1-1/2 inch male pipe thread on the threaded end. It is used in potable water, HVAC, and general plumbing piping systems where a soldered copper line must connect to a threaded fitting, valve, or equipment port. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this type of adapter.
This adapter is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing and HVAC hydronic applications. The C x MPT configuration allows a copper sweat branch to terminate at any threaded female port on pumps, valves, manifolds, or equipment connections. It ships in a box quantity of 10, making it practical for multi-unit jobs or stocking service vehicles.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use fitting for copper plumbing and hydronic piping systems requiring a sweat-to-male-thread transition at 1-5/8 inch by 1-1/2 inch sizing.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter. Shut off and drain the water supply before cutting or sweating any copper line. The sweat end requires standard flux and lead-free solder per applicable plumbing codes, including IPC and local jurisdiction requirements. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the MPT threads before making up the threaded connection; do not over-tighten, as copper threads can crack under excessive torque.
