The NDL INDUSTRIES W1093 is a copper reducing coupling designed to connect two copper pipes of different diameters in a single in-line joint. With a sweat-connection configuration (C x C), the fitting accepts standard copper tubing on both ends and is soldered in place using conventional torch and flux methods. The larger end measures 3-1/8 inches and the smaller end measures 2-5/8 inches, making it suitable for reducing down within a copper distribution or process piping system. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers for this type of fitting.
This reducing coupling is used in residential and commercial copper piping applications where a transition between two different pipe sizes is required within the same run. Common install scenarios include main supply lines, recirculation loops, and mechanical room piping where pipe sizes change at equipment connections or branch takeoffs. The C x C sweat connection is compatible with standard copper tube sizes in the 3-inch nominal range.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use reducing coupling for copper piping systems requiring a C x C sweat connection in the 3-1/8 inches by 2-5/8 inches size range.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and applicable local codes. Shut off and depressurize the water supply and drain the affected pipe section before cutting or soldering. Clean and flux all mating surfaces thoroughly before applying heat to ensure a leak-free solder joint. Allow the fitting to cool completely before restoring system pressure and inspecting for leaks.
