The NDL INDUSTRIES W1074 is a copper reducing coupling designed to connect two different-diameter copper tubes in a sweat-solder (C x C) configuration. It transitions from a 2.125-inch connection on the larger end to a 1.375-inch connection on the smaller end. This fitting is used in copper piping systems where a line-size reduction is required without additional adapters or fittings. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians install this coupling in hydronic, refrigerant, and domestic water piping applications. The all-copper construction provides reliable, long-lasting joints when properly soldered.
This reducing coupling is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing and HVAC installations where a step-down in pipe diameter is needed. It is commonly used when transitioning between main supply lines and branch runs, or when connecting equipment with differing port sizes. The C x C ends accept standard copper tubing and are compatible with conventional sweat-solder joining methods used throughout the trade.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for copper piping systems using 2.125-inch and 1.375-inch nominal copper tube sizes with sweat-solder connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off and depressurize the water or refrigerant system and allow all components to cool before cutting or joining pipe. Clean and flux both tube ends and fitting cups thoroughly before applying heat and solder. Do not overheat the fitting, as excessive heat can compromise the joint integrity or damage adjacent components.
