The NDL INDUSTRIES W1073 is a copper reducing coupling designed to connect two copper pipes of different diameters using a solder-joint (C x C) connection type. It transitions from a 2.125-inch diameter to a 1.625-inch diameter, making it a standard fitting for plumbing and HVAC piping systems where a pipe size reduction is required inline. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians install this type of fitting during new construction, system modifications, or repairs where copper tubing must step down in size without a change in flow direction.
This reducing coupling is suited for residential and light commercial copper piping systems. Typical applications include domestic water supply lines, hydronic heating distribution piping, refrigerant line modifications where allowed, and other closed-loop copper systems. The C x C end connections require standard sweat-soldering technique, making installation straightforward for any trained pipefitter or plumber working with copper tubing.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install fitting for copper piping systems using 2.125-inch and 1.625-inch nominal copper tubing with solder-joint connections.
Installation requires a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician following applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off and depressurize the water or fluid system completely before cutting into existing pipe. Both pipe ends must be cut square, deburred, and cleaned with emery cloth and flux before soldering to ensure a leak-free joint. Do not apply heat to the fitting while fluid remains in the line.
