The NDL INDUSTRIES W1067 is a copper reducing coupling designed to connect two copper tubing runs of different diameters using sweat (C x C) end connections. It transitions from a 1-5/8-inch diameter to a 7/8-inch diameter and is used wherever a refrigerant, hydronic, or plumbing line requires a step-down in tube size. The fitting is manufactured to standard copper pressure fitting tolerances, making it suitable for use in residential and light commercial installations. HVAC technicians and plumbers are the primary trades that install this type of fitting during new construction, system retrofits, or repair work.
This reducing coupling is used in copper tubing systems where line size changes are required at a junction point. Common applications include refrigerant suction and liquid line assemblies, hydronic heating and cooling distribution piping, and domestic water supply systems. The C x C (sweat) connection type requires soldering at both ends. It is sold in a box quantity of 10 units, which suits service vans and job-site stock needs alike.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for copper tubing systems requiring a reducing coupling with C x C sweat connections in 1-5/8-inch by 7/8-inch sizes.
Installation requires a licensed HVAC technician or plumber, depending on the system type. Before soldering, shut off system pressure, evacuate refrigerant per EPA Section 608 guidelines if working on a refrigerant circuit, or isolate and drain the water line if working on a plumbing system. Clean and flux both tube ends and the fitting sockets thoroughly before applying heat. Follow applicable codes including ASHRAE, IPC, or local mechanical codes for joint preparation and inspection requirements.
