The NDL INDUSTRIES W1038 is a copper reducing coupling designed to connect two copper tubing lines of different diameters in a single inline joint. With a 7/8-inch by 3/8-inch connection size and a sweat-solder (C X C) fitting type, this coupling allows a technician to step down tubing size within a refrigerant, hydronic, or potable water line without the need for an adapter or union. It is installed by licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, and refrigeration mechanics wherever a direct copper-to-copper size transition is required.
This reducing coupling is suited for residential and light commercial applications including refrigerant line sets, chilled water piping, domestic hot and cold water distribution, and radiant heating systems. The C X C end configuration requires both male ends to be cleaned, fluxed, and brazed or soldered to the female socket ends of the fitting. It ships in a box quantity of 50 units, making it practical for stocking on service vehicles or in shop inventory.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for copper tubing systems requiring a 7/8-inch to 3/8-inch inline size reduction with sweat-solder end connections.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or refrigeration mechanic. Shut off and isolate the fluid or refrigerant circuit and allow the line to depressurize fully before cutting into existing copper tubing. Both tubing ends must be cut square, deburred, cleaned with emery cloth, and coated with the appropriate flux before insertion into the coupling sockets. Follow applicable codes including IPC, IFGC, or applicable mechanical codes for brazing and soldering procedures.
