The NDL INDUSTRIES W1031 is a copper reducing coupling designed to connect two copper pipes of different diameters in a sweat-solder (C x C) configuration. It transitions from a 3/4-inch line to a 3/8-inch line without the need for additional adapters. This fitting is used in potable water supply, hydronic heating, refrigeration, and HVAC piping systems. Plumbers and HVAC technicians install this type of fitting wherever a line size reduction is required in an all-copper system. The sweat-connect ends accept standard copper tubing and are joined using a torch and appropriate solder or brazing alloy.
This reducing coupling is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing and mechanical systems where a permanent, leak-tight inline reduction is needed. Typical applications include domestic hot and cold water distribution, chilled water piping, and refrigerant line connections requiring a size step-down. It is sold in a box quantity of 100 units, making it appropriate for contractors managing multi-fixture or multi-unit projects.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use fitting for copper piping systems using 3/4-inch and 3/8-inch nominal tube sizes with sweat (C x C) end connections.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician following applicable IPC or IFGC requirements. Shut off and depressurize the water or refrigerant system and allow all lines to cool before cutting into existing piping. Clean pipe ends and fitting sockets thoroughly with emery cloth and apply appropriate flux before soldering or brazing. Do not apply heat to a pressurized line.
