The NDL INDUSTRIES W1030 is a copper reducing coupling designed to connect two copper pipe runs of different diameters using a sweat-solder (CxC) joint. It transitions a 3/4-inch copper line down to a 1/2-inch copper line in a single fitting, eliminating the need for adapters or secondary connections. This type of reducing coupling is a standard component in residential and light commercial plumbing and hydronic systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting during new construction, remodel rough-in, and service work wherever a pipe size reduction is required inline.
The W1030 is suited for potable water supply lines, hot and cold distribution systems, and hydronic heating applications where copper sweat fittings are the specified connection method. The CxC configuration means both ends accept copper pipe for soldering, making it compatible with standard Type K, Type L, and Type M copper tubing. It is commonly used in wall cavities, mechanical rooms, and under-slab installations where a compact, reliable reduction is needed.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-stock fitting for copper sweat plumbing systems using 3/4-inch to 1/2-inch inline reductions.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and depressurize and drain the line before cutting and fitting. Clean and flux both pipe ends and the fitting sockets before applying heat for soldering. Do not apply flame directly to the fitting socket for an extended period, as overheating can damage the fitting and result in a failed joint.
