Product Description

The NDL INDUSTRIES NCH-165F is a liquid line filter drier designed for residential and light commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems. It uses an XH-11 desiccant combined with activated alumina in a 70/30 blend to remove moisture and contaminants from the refrigerant circuit, protecting compressors and metering devices from damage. The unit is packaged under positive pressure of 30 to 40 PSIG to keep the desiccant dry and ready for installation. Three basket-shaped honeycomb perforated plates minimize pressure drop across the drier, maintaining system efficiency. The 5/8 inch flare connection fittings are finished with electroless nickel plating for corrosion resistance. The body is finished with black powder coat paint rated to withstand a 1000-hour salt spray test.

The NCH-165F is suited for installation in the liquid line of split-system air conditioners, heat pumps, and refrigeration systems using R410A and other compatible refrigerants. Note that this desiccant blend will not remove the R32 component from refrigerant blends that contain it. Furnace-brazed construction in an oxygen-free environment adds strength at the fitting ends and eliminates internal rust. This filter drier is appropriate for new installations, system retrofits, and post-burnout cleanup procedures where liquid line protection is required.

Key Features

  • XH-11 desiccant with 70/30 activated alumina blend for effective moisture and acid removal in R410A systems
  • Three honeycomb perforated basket plates reduce pressure drop across the drier
  • Electroless nickel plating on end connection fittings resists corrosion
  • Furnace-brazed in an oxygen-free environment for strong, rust-free fitting ends
  • Black powder coat finish rated for 1000-hour salt spray resistance
  • Packaged under 30 to 40 PSIG positive pressure to protect desiccant prior to installation
  • UL and RoHS approved

Compatibility

Designed for use with R410A and other compatible refrigerants in liquid line filter drier applications. This desiccant formulation is not suitable for systems where removal of the R32 component from a refrigerant blend is required.

Installation Notes

A licensed HVAC technician should install this filter drier after recovering system refrigerant and confirming the system is de-energized and depressurized. The flare connection should be made with the appropriate flare nut and torqued using calibrated flare tools per standard field practice. Do not leave the drier open to atmosphere longer than necessary before completing the installation and pulling a vacuum on the system. Replace the liquid line filter drier any time a compressor burnout is suspected or confirmed.
