The NDL INDUSTRIES n-1654 is a 90-degree copper street elbow designed for use in plumbing and HVAC refrigerant or water piping systems. This fitting connects a 3/4 inch fitting end to a 3/4 inch copper sweat end, allowing a direction change of 90 degrees within a piping run. Constructed entirely from copper, it is built to handle the thermal cycling, pressure, and corrosion demands common to residential and light commercial plumbing and mechanical systems. The street elbow configuration — one male fitting end and one female socket end — eliminates the need for an additional coupling in tight-space installations. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians are the primary installers of this fitting type.
The n-1654 is suited for residential and commercial plumbing supply lines, hydronic heating systems, and HVAC refrigerant-adjacent copper piping where a 90-degree directional change is required in a 3/4 inch line. The street elbow design is particularly useful in confined spaces where back-to-back fittings would otherwise be necessary. It is compatible with standard 3/4 inch copper tube and soldered sweat connections per industry practice.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard 3/4 inch nominal copper tubing systems using sweat-solder connections in residential and commercial plumbing and HVAC applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with the applicable plumbing code, such as the IPC or local jurisdiction equivalent. Always shut off the water supply or refrigerant system and relieve system pressure before cutting or soldering any fitting. Clean and flux all mating surfaces thoroughly before applying heat, and use lead-free solder where potable water systems are involved. Allow the joint to cool completely before restoring pressure to the system.
