The NATIONAL MFG/SPECTRUM BRANDS HHI N889-014 is a 3/16-inch wire cable clamp engineered for forming a secure eye or loop on wire rope. The clamp features a malleable iron saddle paired with a steel U-bolt and nuts, combining durability with straightforward assembly. Rated to meet the torque value requirements of Federal Specifications FF-C-450D, Type 1, Class 2, this clamp is suited for anchoring webbing or strap in both interior and exterior environments. Electricians, riggers, and general trade professionals install this type of hardware where a reliable wire rope termination is required.
This cable clamp is appropriate for light-duty rigging, safety tie-off anchoring, and wire rope looping tasks across residential and commercial job sites. Its compatibility with both interior and exterior applications makes it a versatile addition to a technician's hardware inventory. The package includes four clamps, allowing multiple terminations to be completed from a single purchase. Typical uses include cable management runs, anchoring points for webbing, and quick-attach wire rope eyes in both indoor mechanical rooms and outdoor structural applications.
Designed for use with 3/16-inch wire rope to form eyes, loops, and quick-attach terminations in general rigging and cable anchoring applications.
Installation is typically performed by electricians, riggers, or general contractors working with wire rope assemblies. Before installation, ensure all tension is relieved from the wire rope and the work area is secure. Position the saddle on the live end of the rope and the U-bolt over the dead end, then tighten nuts evenly to the torque value specified by Federal Specifications FF-C-450D, Type 1, Class 2. Never install the saddle on the dead end of the rope, as improper orientation compromises holding strength.
