The NATIONAL MFG/SPECTRUM BRANDS HHI N220-699 is a zinc lag screw eye designed for heavy-duty anchoring and hanging applications. The threaded lag shank drives directly into wood framing or structural lumber, providing a secure fixed loop for attaching hooks, cables, rope, or hardware. At 5/16 inches in diameter and 6 inches in length, this screw eye offers deep thread engagement and a rated load capacity of 175 pounds. The zinc finish provides corrosion resistance for both interior and light exterior use. Each unit is sold individually and available in bulk pack quantities of 10.
This lag screw eye is suited for residential and light commercial installations where a strong, threaded anchor point is required in wood substrates. Common applications include hanging garage storage, securing cable runs, rigging guide wires, and attaching pulleys or block hardware. The 6-inch shank length makes it appropriate for use in thicker framing members where shallow fasteners would not provide adequate holding strength.
Designed as a standard lag screw eye for installation into wood framing, joists, beams, and structural lumber where a threaded anchor loop is required.
Installation is typically performed by a general contractor, carpenter, or qualified tradesperson using an appropriately sized pilot hole to prevent wood splitting — pilot hole diameter should be selected based on the lumber species and fastener size per standard fastener practice. Power down or de-energize any adjacent electrical systems before drilling near wiring. Do not exceed the rated 175-pound load capacity, and inspect the installation point for structural adequacy before loading.
