The NATIONAL MFG/SPECTRUM BRANDS HHI N182-725 is a zinc threaded rod coupler designed to join two sections of threaded rod into a single continuous length. Built to UNC coarse thread standards at a 3/4-10 thread size, this coupler provides a secure mechanical connection for suspended pipe hangers, structural support assemblies, and similar trade applications. Witness holes on the coupler body allow the installer to visually confirm that both rod ends are fully threaded through before finalizing the connection. Each package contains 15 couplers, making it practical for multi-point installations.
This coupler is used in commercial and residential construction where threaded rod is required to span lengths greater than standard stock rod allows. Typical applications include suspended ceiling systems, HVAC duct hangers, pipe support frameworks, and mechanical room strut assemblies. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, HVAC mechanics, and general contractors regularly use threaded rod couplers in both new construction and retrofit work. The zinc finish provides basic corrosion resistance suitable for interior dry and mildly humid environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use coupler for standard 3/4-10 UNC threaded rod used in suspended mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC support applications.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, or HVAC mechanics working with suspended support systems. Ensure that both rod ends are threaded fully through the coupler until visible at the witness holes before applying load. Follow applicable building codes and manufacturer load ratings when sizing rod and coupler assemblies for structural support. Do not use in applications that exceed the material or thread rating of zinc-body couplers.
