The NATIONAL MFG/SPECTRUM BRANDS HHI N130-674 is a fully threaded zinc bolt hook designed for gate hinge applications. Measuring 0.75 inches in diameter and 12 inches in length, this bolt hook passes through a gate post and is secured on each side with standard nuts and washers. It serves as a replacement component for National 292 Bolt Hook Strap Hinges and is also suitable for new installations using National 294 Hinge Straps. The full-thread design allows for incremental adjustment to correct gate sag over time. Each unit ships boxed loose and includes 2 washers and 2 nuts per hinge. Sold in a package quantity of 10.
This bolt hook is intended for residential and light commercial gate installations where a reliable, adjustable hinge pivot point is required. It is commonly used by fence installers, general contractors, and experienced DIYers working on wood or metal post gate assemblies. Its zinc construction provides corrosion resistance suitable for outdoor exposure. The adjustment capability makes it practical for correcting sag on existing gates without full hinge replacement.
Designed as a replacement part for use with National 292 Bolt Hook Strap Hinges, and for new installations with National 294 Hinge Straps only.
Installation is typically performed by fence installers or general contractors. Before installing or adjusting, ensure the gate is properly supported and not under load. Drill a clean through-hole in the post sized to accept the 0.75-inch bolt shank, insert the hook, and secure with the supplied nuts and washers on both sides. Tighten fasteners with standard wrenches; do not overtighten to the point of compressing or splitting wood post material.
