The NATIONAL MARKER N342501 is a 4-inch extra heavy tee hinge built from stainless steel for long-term corrosion resistance. It carries an ACQ-safe rating, making it suitable for use with pressure-treated lumber as well as naturally durable woods such as cedar and redwood. A patented bearing design eliminates metal-to-metal contact, resulting in smooth, quiet swing action over the life of the hinge. The tight pin supports both right-hand and left-hand installation without modification. Offset screw holes distribute load across the mounting surface for added holding strength. This hinge meets ANSI/BHMA A156.20 bearing grade cycle requirements at 100,000 cycles. Sold individually.
This tee hinge is suited for residential and light commercial gate, door, and access panel applications where exposure to moisture, treated lumber, or corrosive environments is a concern. Typical installations include wood fence gates, garden gates, shed doors, and exterior utility enclosures. Its heavy-duty construction makes it appropriate for applications that see frequent use or heavier door panels. Carpenters, contractors, and experienced DIYers handle routine installation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation tee hinge for exterior wood gates, shed doors, and access panels requiring a 4-inch heavy-duty hinge with stainless steel construction.
Installation is typically performed by carpenters or general contractors using standard hand tools and appropriately sized wood screws for the mounting substrate. Confirm that fastener length and material are compatible with the door or gate thickness and any treated lumber to maintain the ACQ-safe integrity of the assembly. Pre-drilling pilot holes is recommended to prevent wood splitting, particularly in hardwoods or dense treated lumber. Follow applicable local building codes for gate and door hardware on fenced enclosures.
