The NATIONAL MARKER N221820 is a stainless steel eye-eye turnbuckle designed for tightening and drawing together lines, cables, and rigging assemblies. The body is hex-shaped, allowing adjustment by hand or with a standard wrench. Eyes are passivated for enhanced corrosion resistance beyond standard stainless steel. The material is nonmagnetic and resistant to atmospheric corrosion, making this turnbuckle well suited to demanding environments. The 3/16-inch thread diameter and 5-1/2-inch body length make it appropriate for light-to-medium tensioning applications. Licensed riggers, marine mechanics, and general contractors typically install this hardware in both marine and land-based settings.
This turnbuckle is used in marine rigging, outdoor cable assemblies, fence tensioning, antenna stays, and similar applications where corrosion resistance and reliable tension adjustment are required. Its nonmagnetic stainless steel construction performs well in saltwater and high-humidity environments. The passivated eyes provide additional protection at the contact points where corrosion most commonly initiates. It is sold individually and is suited to both new installations and replacement work on existing cable or wire rope assemblies.
Designed as a replacement or new-installation eye-eye turnbuckle for marine rigging, outdoor cable tensioning, and general-purpose wire rope assemblies. Compatible hardware selection should be based on matching the 3/16-inch thread diameter and confirming load ratings meet application requirements.
Installation should be performed by a qualified rigger or tradesperson familiar with tension hardware and applicable load ratings. Inspect all mating hardware, thimbles, and anchor points before installation. Do not exceed the working load limit of the weakest component in the assembly. Secure with locking wire or jam nuts after final tensioning to prevent loosening under vibration or dynamic loads.
