The NASHUA FSK_3X50YD is a foil/scrim/kraft (FSK) insulation jacketing tape designed for sealing, patching, and joining insulation systems in HVAC and mechanical insulation applications. The tape measures 3 inches wide by 50 yards long with a total thickness of 9.25 mil. It uses a synthetic rubber adhesive over an aluminum and kraft paper laminate backing, delivering aggressive, high-tack bonding to duct board, fiberglass pipe insulation, and other insulated surfaces. Licensed HVAC and mechanical insulation contractors rely on this tape for demanding installations where moisture, UV exposure, and mold resistance are required.
This tape is suited for residential and commercial HVAC insulation work, including taping insulation joints and patching scrim-reinforced duct installations. The low-VOC, non-solvent adhesive system keeps odor down in occupied buildings and can contribute toward satisfying EQ Credit 4.1 (Low Emitting Materials) under LEED certification requirements. It performs across a rated temperature range of 40 to 200 degrees F, covering typical duct and pipe insulation service conditions in both conditioned and unconditioned spaces.
Designed for use in insulation jacketing applications including taping insulation joints and patching scrim-reinforced duct board installations in HVAC and mechanical insulation systems.
This tape is typically applied by licensed mechanical insulation contractors or HVAC technicians during duct and pipe insulation work. Surfaces should be clean, dry, and free of dust or oil before tape application to ensure full adhesive contact. Power down any HVAC equipment before working on associated duct sections. Apply firm hand pressure or use a seam roller across the full tape width to achieve complete bond, particularly at joints and lap seams.
