The NASHUA 324A_2.5X60YD is a premium cold-weather aluminum foil tape designed for duct sealing, insulation repair, and dryer vent applications. It measures 2.5 inches wide by 60 yards long with a total thickness of 4.8 mil. The construction consists of an aluminum foil backing, an aggressive acrylic adhesive formulated for low-temperature performance, and a kraft paper release liner. Rated for use from -25 degrees F to 325 degrees F, this tape maintains adhesion in extreme cold where standard foil tapes fail. HVAC technicians and sheet metal contractors are the primary installers. Low VOC content supports compliance with applicable indoor air quality standards.
This tape is engineered for Class 1 flexible duct sealing, insulation seam and patch work, and dryer vent sealing on residential and light commercial HVAC systems. It meets UL 181A-P and UL 181B-FX listing requirements, making it code-acceptable for sealed duct systems. It can also contribute toward LEED EA Credit 1 (Optimize Energy Performance) and LEED EQ Credit 4.1 (Low Emitting Materials) on green-building projects. Typical install scenarios include ductwork connections, flex duct collars, and vapor barrier seams where long-term adhesion across temperature swings is required.
Listed under UL 181A-P and UL 181B-FX for use on Class 1 flexible duct systems and rigid duct assemblies. Suitable for insulation seam and patch applications and dryer vent sealing where a listed foil tape is required by code.
Installation is typically performed by licensed HVAC technicians or sheet metal contractors. Shut down the air handling system and relieve any system pressure before applying tape to pressurized ductwork. Surface should be clean, dry, and free of dust or grease for maximum adhesion. Consult local mechanical codes and the International Mechanical Code (IMC) for duct sealing requirements in your jurisdiction.
