The MULTISET MSMW50 is an economical polymer modified thin-set mortar formulated for bonding tile to a wide range of substrates in floor, wall, and countertop installations. It bonds vitreous, semi-vitreous, and absorptive tile types including ceramic mosaic, quarry, cement, porcelain, brick, mini-brick, precast terrazzo, and natural stone. Approved substrates include concrete mortar beds, masonry, Portland cement plaster, cement backerboards, gypsum wallboard in dry areas, and existing ceramic tile. Coverage runs approximately 80 to 90 square feet per 50-pound bag when applied with a 1/4 x 1/4 x 1/4 inch square-notch trowel. Pot life is 2 hours.
This mortar is suited for residential and light commercial tile installations where a cost-effective, polymer-enhanced thin-set is required. Common applications include floor and wall tile in bathrooms, kitchens, utility rooms, and countertop surfaces. It is installed by tile setters, flooring contractors, and skilled trades workers. Do not apply over hardwood, luan plywood, particle board, parquet, cushion or sponge-back vinyl flooring, metal, fiberglass, plastic, or OSB panels.
Designed for use with vitreous, semi-vitreous, and absorptive tile types on substrates including concrete mortar beds, masonry, Portland cement plaster, cement backerboards, gypsum wallboard in dry areas, and existing ceramic tile. Not compatible with hardwood, luan plywood, particle board, parquet, cushion or sponge-back vinyl flooring, metal, fiberglass, plastic, or OSB panels.
Installation should be performed by a qualified tile setter or flooring contractor following applicable industry standards including ANSI A108 setting methods. Mix mortar to a smooth, lump-free consistency and allow to slake before use. Apply with the appropriate notch trowel size and back-butter large-format or natural stone tile as needed. Allow a minimum of 24 hours of cure time before grouting or allowing light foot traffic, adjusting for ambient temperature and humidity conditions.
