The MUELLER STREAMLINE w 01049 is a wrot copper reducing coupling with a C x C (sweat) connection, sized at 1 inch by 3/4 inch. It is designed for solder-joint assembly in pressurized water supply lines, transitioning pipe from a 1-inch run down to a 3/4-inch line. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting using standard copper soldering technique. It is manufactured from high-grade wrot copper and meets applicable ASME dimensional and performance standards, including ASME B16.22. The wrot copper construction also meets NSF 61G requirements for use in potable water systems.
This reducing coupling is suited for above-ground potable water supply systems in residential and light commercial plumbing installations. It is used wherever a pipe diameter reduction is required mid-run, such as branch transitions from a main supply trunk to a smaller distribution line. The C x C ends accept standard copper tubing for sweat-soldered connections. Licensed plumbers rely on this fitting for new construction, renovation, and repair work where reliable, long-term performance in pressurized water systems is required.
Designed as an OEM-style solder-joint replacement fitting for above-ground potable water supply systems using standard 1-inch and 3/4-inch copper tubing.
Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off and depressurize the water supply line and fully drain the pipe before soldering. Tube ends and fitting cups must be cleaned and fluxed prior to applying heat. Avoid overheating the fitting, as excessive heat can compromise joint integrity and damage adjacent components.
