The MUELLER STREAMLINE W 01036R is a wrot copper reducing coupling designed for sweat-soldered (C-style) copper piping systems. It transitions a 3/4-inch nominal line down to a 1/2-inch nominal line using a press-fit, solder-ready end style compatible with standard copper tube. Wrot copper construction provides excellent corrosion resistance and reliable performance in both hot and cold water applications. This fitting is a standard plumbing component installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on residential and light commercial water distribution systems.
This reducing coupling is suited for use in potable water supply lines, hydronic heating distribution piping, and general copper plumbing roughin work where a diameter reduction is required in the run. The C (sweat) end style requires standard soldering preparation including cleaning, fluxing, and brazing or soft-soldering with appropriate filler material. No additional adapters are needed when transitioning between these two nominal copper tube sizes.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard nominal copper tube systems using C (sweat solder) end connections.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber following applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and drain the water supply before cutting into the existing line. Clean both the tube ends and the fitting socket thoroughly with emery cloth, apply an appropriate flux, and solder using a lead-free filler material where required by code. Do not apply heat to a fitting that still contains water, as steam pressure can compromise the joint.
