The MUELLER STREAMLINE rp18115 is a hermetically sealed sight glass and moisture indicator designed for refrigeration and HVAC systems. Installed in the liquid line, it gives technicians a direct visual read on refrigerant flow conditions and moisture content, allowing fast diagnosis of system charge status and contamination. The rp18115 features a large viewing window with a color-change moisture indicator for reliable identification of wet or dry system conditions. Operating temperature range spans -40 degrees F to 185 degrees F (-40 degrees C to 85 degrees C), covering a wide range of residential and commercial refrigeration applications. Connections are 3/8-inch FTG x FTG. Approved weight is 0.42 pounds.
This sight glass is suited for use in refrigerant liquid lines on residential and light commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems. It is typically installed by licensed HVAC-R technicians during system service, commissioning, or component replacement. The FTG x FTG end configuration allows direct brazing into copper tubing. The rp18115 is part of a product family available in sizes from 1/4 inch through 1-1/8 inch, making it adaptable across a range of system capacities.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation sight glass for refrigerant liquid lines using 3/8-inch copper tubing with FTG connections. Compatible with common refrigerants used in residential and light commercial HVAC-R systems. Part of a line available from 1/4 inch to 1-1/8 inch connection sizes.
Installation is performed by a licensed HVAC-R technician. Recover all refrigerant and depressurize the system completely before cutting into the liquid line. The FTG x FTG connections require brazing using standard refrigeration brazing procedures; flow dry nitrogen through the line during brazing to prevent internal oxidation. After installation, pressure-test the system and recharge with the appropriate refrigerant per manufacturer and EPA Section 608 requirements.
