The MUELLER STREAMLINE PF01534 is a press reducing adapter fitting used to connect a smaller press fitting outlet to a larger female pipe thread (FPT) connection in copper piping systems. It transitions from a 1/2-inch press fitting end to a 3/4-inch FPT end, allowing technicians to reduce line size or adapt between press and threaded connections without soldering. Rated to 200 psi and 250 degrees F, this adapter is suited for domestic water, hydronic heating, and light commercial plumbing applications. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians are the primary installers.
This fitting is used in residential and light commercial plumbing and hydronic systems where press-fit copper connections are specified. The press FTG (fitting) end accepts a standard press tool, while the FPT end threads onto a compatible male-threaded component. It is commonly installed during new construction, remodel work, or service calls where a soldered joint is not practical or permitted.
Designed as an OEM-style press reducing adapter for copper press piping systems using standard press-fit tooling and 1/2-inch press by 3/4-inch female pipe thread connections.
Installation requires a calibrated press tool with the correct jaw size for the press end diameter. Shut off and depressurize the water or hydronic system before beginning work. Inspect the pipe end for burrs or debris and ensure it is fully inserted to the pipe stop before pressing. Work must comply with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC standards; in many jurisdictions a licensed plumber is required.
