The MUELLER STREAMLINE K092650 is a DWV reducing wye fitting designed for drain, waste, and vent piping systems. This hub-end fitting connects a 6-inch main run to a 4-inch branch line, allowing directional flow splitting in residential and commercial drain systems. Manufactured from PVC, it offers corrosion resistance and long service life in below-grade, in-wall, and exposed drain configurations. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting during rough-in on new construction or during drain line modifications and repairs.
This reducing wye is suited for residential and light commercial DWV applications where a 6-inch main line must branch to a 4-inch lateral. It is appropriate for horizontal drain runs, combination waste-and-vent systems, and sanitary sewer piping inside the building envelope. The hub end style accepts solvent-weld connections, which is the standard joining method for PVC DWV fittings in this size range.
Designed as an OEM-style DWV fitting for use with schedule 40 PVC hub-end pipe and fittings in 6-inch and 4-inch nominal sizes per applicable plumbing code standards.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) or locally adopted equivalent. Shut off water supply and ensure the drain system is not under flow before cutting into an existing line. Use approved PVC primer and solvent cement rated for DWV service when making hub connections. Support horizontal runs at intervals required by code to prevent sag and maintain proper drain slope.
