The MUELLER STREAMLINE ELL00891 is a wrot copper 90-degree street elbow designed for soldered copper piping systems. It features a long-radius, FTG x C (fitting by copper) connection configuration in a 1 inch by 1 inch size. Wrot copper construction provides the density, pressure tolerance, and corrosion resistance that plumbing and HVAC hydronic systems demand. This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on both new construction and retrofit projects. The long-radius geometry reduces flow turbulence at the turn, making it well suited for systems where pressure drop is a concern.
This elbow is used in residential and light commercial copper piping installations where a 90-degree directional change is required. It is appropriate for domestic water supply, hydronic heating lines, and similar solder-joint copper applications. The street end accepts the plain end of a copper tube or the male end of another fitting, giving installers flexibility in tight spaces without adding an extra coupling. It is typically found in mechanical rooms, crawl spaces, and wall rough-in work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard 1 inch solder-joint copper piping systems using FTG x C connections.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the water or fluid system and allow all piping to cool before cutting or fitting. Clean and flux all mating surfaces per standard copper soldering procedure, and use a lead-free solder alloy where potable water codes apply. Do not overheat the fitting during soldering, as excessive heat can damage the fitting socket or cause flux carbonization that weakens the joint.
