The MUELLER STREAMLINE ELL00890 is a wrot copper 90-degree street elbow used to change flow direction in copper piping systems. It uses a fitting-by-copper (FTG x C) solder connection in a 3/4 inch by 3/4 inch configuration, making one end male-sweat and the other end socket-sweat. The long-radius design reduces turbulence and pressure drop through the turn compared to short-radius elbows. At 0.13 pounds, this lightweight fitting is intended for potable water, hydronic heating, and refrigeration piping. Plumbers and HVAC technicians install this fitting wherever a 90-degree directional change is needed in a copper line set or plumbing rough-in.
This elbow is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing and HVAC applications. Typical uses include domestic hot and cold water distribution, hydronic radiant and baseboard heating loops, and refrigerant line sets where copper sweat fittings are specified. The FTG x C connection style allows this street elbow to connect directly into another fitting socket without requiring a short nipple, saving space in tight installations. It is a standard solder-type fitting appropriate for any trade that works with wrot copper sweat assemblies.
Designed as an OEM-style solder fitting for use in standard wrot copper sweat piping assemblies across plumbing and HVAC applications.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or HVAC technicians familiar with sweat soldering practices. Shut off and depressurize the water or refrigerant line before cutting and fitting. Clean and flux all mating surfaces per copper soldering best practices, and use the appropriate solder alloy for the application, noting that potable water systems require lead-free solder per applicable plumbing codes. Follow local IPC or IFGC requirements and all applicable mechanical codes for material and installation standards.
