The MUELLER STREAMLINE ELL00879 is a wrot copper 90-degree long radius street elbow designed for soldered copper piping systems. It connects a fitting-end (FTG) outlet to a copper-tube-end (C) inlet, both sized at 1-1/4 inches. The long radius design reduces turbulence and pressure drop compared to standard-radius fittings, making it well suited for high-flow domestic water, hydronic heating, and HVAC piping applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting using standard solder and flux per applicable codes. Wrot copper construction delivers consistent wall thickness and clean joint surfaces for reliable brazed or soldered connections.
This elbow is used in residential and light commercial plumbing and mechanical piping systems wherever a 90-degree direction change is required. The street configuration — FTG on one end — allows the fitting to be inserted directly into another fitting socket without an additional coupling, saving labor in tight or congested piping runs. Typical applications include supply and return lines in hydronic heating systems, domestic hot and cold water distribution, and refrigeration equipment piping where copper is the specified material.
Designed as an OEM-style wrot copper solder fitting for 1-1/4 inch copper tube systems following ASTM B16.22 or equivalent standards in plumbing and mechanical piping applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and local amendments. Shut off and drain the affected piping system before cutting or fitting. Clean all mating surfaces with emery cloth and apply appropriate flux before soldering or brazing. Do not apply heat directly to the fitting socket for extended periods, as overheating wrot copper can cause oxidation that compromises the joint.
