The MUELLER STREAMLINE CPL00307 is a wrot copper reducing coupling designed for soldered (sweat) copper tubing connections in plumbing and mechanical piping systems. It transitions a 3/4-inch line down to a 1/2-inch line using a C x C (cup by cup) end configuration, making it a standard fitting for reducing runs in residential and light commercial water supply and hydronic distribution lines. At 0.08 pounds and compact dimensions, it is easy to handle in tight spaces. Compliance with ASME and NSF standards confirms suitability for potable water service. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers.
This reducing coupling is used in new construction and retrofit plumbing projects where a copper tubing run must step down from 3/4-inch to 1/2-inch diameter. Typical applications include domestic hot and cold water distribution, hydronic heating branch lines, and in-wall or under-slab rough-in work where a direct solder joint is required. The wrot copper construction provides consistent wall thickness and reliable joint integrity when properly sweated.
Designed as an OEM-style sweat fitting for standard copper tubing systems following ASME and NSF requirements; suitable for 3/4-inch by 1/2-inch C x C reducing applications in potable water and hydronic piping.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the applicable International Plumbing Code (IPC) or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the water supply line and allow all moisture to drain completely before soldering, as residual water prevents proper joint formation. Clean both the tubing ends and fitting cups with emery cloth and apply lead-free flux before soldering with a lead-free solder approved for potable water service. Allow the joint to cool fully before restoring pressure and inspecting for leaks.
