The MUELLER STREAMLINE CPL00027 is a wrot copper reducing coupling designed for sweat-solder plumbing connections in residential and commercial piping systems. It transitions from a 1-1/4 inch fitting-end (FTG) connection to a 1 inch copper (C) connection, allowing plumbers to step down pipe size within a run. Wrot copper construction provides excellent corrosion resistance and reliable performance in potable water, hydronic heating, and general plumbing applications. The coupling meets ASME standards, making it appropriate for code-compliant installations. At 0.17 pounds, it is a compact, lightweight fitting suited for tight spaces and multi-fitting assemblies.
This reducing coupling is used in residential and light commercial plumbing wherever a pipe size reduction is needed within a copper sweat system. Typical applications include domestic hot and cold water supply lines, hydronic radiant or baseboard heating loops, and in-wall or under-slab copper piping. The FTG x C end configuration means one end slips over copper tubing as a fitting end and the other accepts standard copper tube, giving the installer flexibility when transitioning between pipe sizes. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this fitting.
Designed as an OEM-style sweat reducing coupling compatible with standard 1-1/4 inch and 1 inch copper tube and fittings used in residential and commercial plumbing systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASME standards. Shut off and drain the water supply completely before cutting into any existing piping. Clean and flux all mating surfaces before soldering, and use lead-free solder where required by code for potable water systems. Avoid overheating the fitting during soldering, as excessive heat can damage the fitting and compromise the joint.
