The MUELLER STREAMLINE CO90LLT58 is a long-turn 90-degree copper elbow with sweat (C x C) end connections. It changes flow direction by 90 degrees while the extended radius of the long-turn body reduces turbulence and pressure drop compared to a standard short-radius elbow. This fitting is used in copper tubing systems for water, refrigerant, and hydronic applications. It is sized for 5/8-inch copper tubing and is joined by soldering or brazing. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and pipefitters install this type of fitting during new construction and repair work on copper piping systems.
This elbow is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing and HVAC piping installations where copper tubing is the specified material. The long-turn body is particularly useful in applications where maintaining flow velocity and minimizing friction loss matters, such as refrigerant suction lines or domestic hot and cold water distribution. The C x C sweat configuration accepts standard 5/8-inch OD copper tubing on both ends for a soldered or brazed joint.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for copper tubing systems using 5/8-inch outside diameter copper pipe with sweat end connections.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or HVAC technicians following applicable local plumbing codes and ASHRAE guidelines. Shut off and drain the water or isolate and recover refrigerant from the system before cutting into existing lines. Clean and flux all mating surfaces before soldering or brazing; use the appropriate alloy for the application, as refrigerant lines typically require brazing rather than soft solder. Do not overheat the fitting, as excessive heat can burn away flux and result in a void in the joint.
