The MUELLER STREAMLINE ACR-20X1-1/8 is a 20-foot straight length of hard-drawn copper tubing sized for air conditioning and refrigeration (ACR) applications. With a 1-1/8 inch outer diameter, this tubing meets the dimensional and cleanliness requirements expected in refrigerant line sets and system piping. Hard-drawn copper provides greater rigidity than annealed tubing, making it well suited for long unsupported runs and exposed installations. At 13.1 pounds per length, it is a full-weight commercial stick suitable for both residential and light commercial systems. HVAC technicians and refrigeration mechanics are the primary installers for this product type.
This tubing is used in split-system air conditioning, heat pump, and refrigeration installations where a rigid suction or liquid line is required. The 1-1/8 inch OD dimension corresponds to common suction-line sizing for mid-range to larger residential and light commercial cooling equipment. Straight stick lengths are preferred when routing through framed walls, mechanical rooms, or equipment pads where a coiled soft-copper assembly is impractical. It is also used in process refrigeration and condensing unit piping where a clean, brazed joint system is specified.
Designed as an ACR-grade hard copper tubing stick for use in refrigerant piping systems requiring a 1-1/8 inch OD connection or line size.
Installation of copper refrigerant tubing should be performed by a licensed HVAC or refrigeration technician holding an EPA Section 608 certification. The refrigerant system must be recovered and depressurized before cutting into existing lines. Brazing of ACR copper joints requires proper nitrogen purge to prevent internal oxidation scale, and local mechanical codes should be consulted for support spacing and penetration requirements. Do not bend hard-drawn tubing without a proper tubing bender, as kinking will restrict refrigerant flow and may cause system damage.
