The MUELLER STREAMLINE a15504-350 is a straight-through safety pressure relief valve designed for refrigeration system liquid receiver applications. It features a brass body with a 1/2 inch NPTFE inlet and a 5/8 inch flared outlet, with a factory-set relief pressure of 350 psi. The operating pressure range spans 150 to 700 psi, and the valve is rated for temperatures from -40 to 300 degrees F. Licensed HVAC and refrigeration technicians install this valve to satisfy mandatory safety-device requirements on refrigerant vessels. It is compact at 4.2 inches in width and weighs 0.84 pounds.
This valve is designed primarily for installation above the liquid refrigerant level on liquid receiver vessels in commercial and industrial refrigeration systems. It satisfies ASHRAE Standard 15 code requirements for refrigerant vessel safety devices, as detailed in the ASHRAE Guide and Data Book. It also complies with ASME code for unfired pressure vessels, and discharge rates are certified by the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors. Typical installations include packaged refrigeration units and remote condensing unit receivers where a certified pressure relief device is required by code.
Designed for use on liquid receiver applications in refrigeration systems handling CFC, HCFC, and HFC refrigerants and their associated oils. Valve must be installed above the liquid refrigerant level per application guidelines in ASHRAE Standard 15 and the ASHRAE Guide and Data Book.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC or refrigeration technician in accordance with ASHRAE Standard 15 and applicable local codes. Recover and isolate refrigerant from the vessel before removing any existing relief device or making connections. Mount the valve above the liquid refrigerant level on the receiver as required by code. Verify that the system operating pressure does not approach the 350 psi set point under normal conditions before returning the system to service.
