The MUELLER STREAMLINE a 18699 is a high-capacity liquid line filter drier designed to remove moisture, acid, and particulates from refrigerant circuits in air conditioning and refrigeration systems. With a 16 cubic-inch unit size and a pressure rating of 700 psig, this filter drier is built for demanding service conditions. The powder-coated shell measures 2.92 inches ID by 3.12 inches OD with a cut-out length of 4.33 inches and an overall length of 5.79 inches. Licensed HVAC and refrigeration technicians install this component during system commissioning, compressor replacements, or any service event that exposes the refrigerant circuit to atmosphere.
This filter drier is suited for residential and light commercial refrigerant systems where moisture contamination, acid burnout recovery, or general system cleanup is required. The high-capacity designation makes it appropriate for larger-volume liquid line installations or applications where extended desiccant life is a priority. It is installed in the liquid line between the condenser outlet and the metering device, and its compact envelope fits in tight equipment installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation liquid line filter drier for residential and commercial refrigerant systems requiring a high-capacity 16 cubic-inch drier in the liquid line.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC or refrigeration technician in accordance with applicable mechanical codes and EPA Section 608 refrigerant handling regulations. Recover all refrigerant and isolate the system before cutting into the liquid line. Flow-direction arrows on the drier body must be observed to ensure correct refrigerant flow orientation. Braze connections using proper nitrogen purge procedures to prevent internal oxidation of the desiccant core.
